Fertility and Asthma

Children born after infertility treatments are more likely to suffer from asthma. That’s the conclusion of a study in the journal Human Reproduction.

In a large study done in the UK, researchers were able to track data on conception and asthma diagnosis. The researchers say there could be a number of possible explanations for the association between infertility and asthma. These include the severity of the infertility; infertility treatment or perhaps even over-reporting of asthma symptoms. The next step is to determine why this group may be more apt to have asthma.
