Parents these days are potty-training their children at a later age compared to several decades ago. However, a study suggests that you might want to teach your kids how to use the toilet sooner.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, your child may be ready to learn when he or she:

  • Can follow simple directions
  • Shows warning signs of needing to use the bathroom
  • And has regular, predictable bowel movements
